A Day in Our Home

My sister had a blog entry a month or so ago that showed pictures of scenes from around her house that she wanted to remember from this time in life. It almost made me cry when I read it, and then today when I found Cole's Animal Train parked in my closet, I decided to do the same thing. This is such a special time in our lives, and I sometimes forget to stop and enjoy these moments amidst all the chaos and sleep deprivation.
Cole loves to play on "Mommy and Daddy's Bed." Any opportunity we get, we wrestle on the bed, make pillow mountains, make ice cream shops, get under the covers to make a tent, etc. I think Cole just enjoys the one on one attention with us, as he always tells me that Noah needs to go in the swing while we play on the bed because "he doesn't like the bed." Almost weekly, playing on the bed with Daddy results in Cole throwing up from laughing so hard :)
Right now in our living room there is an exer-saucer, a bouncer chair, a swing, a play mat, Elmo, Curious George, and a pile of laundry. Sometimes it seems that we are being crowded out by baby gear and toys, but it is such the picture of our life right now.
Cole loves making "water footprints" on his bath mat when he gets out of the tub. I took a picture of his little feet the other night.

More Cole

Very Cole

Cole has such a wonderful personality. These pictures and the ones to follow capture some of it. He loves birthdays and really enjoys singing "Happy Birthday," as is evident in the pictures from James' party. He went through this stage where he hated having his picture taken (the swing picture above), but since I have been taking more pictures of Noah, he now wants me to take some of him too. He always does something goofy . . . see the next post of pictures :)

The Boys at Home

Cole and Noah already have so much fun playing together. Cole is always very proud to introduce Noah to new people too. Today we had some friends over for a playdate, and he kept trying to show his little 2 year old friend to Noah. Cole hates it when Noah cries, and I frequently catch him standing on the side of the crib looking at Noah and saying, "It's okay, Noah, Mommy is coming." I certainly have been blessed with two very sweet children!

I just love my boys so much! Seeing them together now only gives me a glimpse into how close they will be in the future. Cole loves to hold his brother, and Noah just gets the biggest grin on his face every time he sees or hears Cole. They are just precious, and I eat up every minute with them. Cole told me tonight, "I want to stay 2." I remember not wanting to grow up as a kid too, and I sure am enjoying this age, but I know every age will be exciting and special.

Here are a few pictures from Easter. We enjoyed going to the Saturday night church service, and then had a leisurely morning, letting Cole do his Easter basket and an egg hunt. It was a beautiful weekend too!
